World Animal Adventure from Baby Einstein teaches kids about the different animals around the world and in which continent they reside.
While kids are used to seeing animals from all around the world in the zoo, they don’t necessarily know where they came from. This Baby Einstein DVD goes continent by continent and shows several of the animals that are native to that region. Animals around the WorldStarting off with Animals of Africa, zebras, giraffes, elephants, camels, and lions are shown, interspersed with fun segments with the Baby Einstein puppets. The Animals of South America include parrots, llamas, frogs, and monkeys. They are also interspersed with the Baby Einstein puppets. The Animals of Asia show pandas, elephants, tigers, and snow monkeys. Not only are the animals shown on video, but also with toys and drawings. The Polar Regions are home to penguins, seals, polar bears and the arctic fox. Sheep and Swans come from Europe, and in North America there are horses, iguanas, buffalo, and bears. Australia is home to kangaroos, clown fish (remember Nemo?), crocodiles, and koalas. By repeating the names and pictures of the animals, kids learn to associate the animals with their correct name. The repetition reinforces the lesson of what kind of animals are being shown. Grow With Me Version of the DVDNot only does this DVD contain this wonderful exploration of world animals in Mode 1, but there is a Mode 2 which is called “Grow With Me.” The Grow With Me adds additional words as the child grows and learns the names of the animals. For instance, in Mode 1 the narrator will say “Camel” during the video of a camel. In Mode 2, the Grow With Me version, the narrator will say “Camel Chewing.” This adds more vocabulary to the video and without knowing they are learning, kids begin to grow their own vocabularies. Bonus Features on the DVDBonus features on this DVD include Discovery Cards where kids and their parents can learn more about the different animals, a world animal song, and a Toy Chest. The toy chest has the different toys that are seen in the video and gives parents the location where they can get them. Baby EinsteinBaby Einstein combines music with video and allows kids to experience new worlds outside of their own home. They are designed for babies and have received several awards from parenting magazines and organizations. Parents can feel secure with letting their babies watch any of the Baby Einstein DVDs. Baby Einstein: World Animal Adventure is a great way for babies to get their first glimpse of animals from around the globe, and also learn what they are and where they are from.
