Minnesota Cuke is back with a new adventure from VeggieTales, Minnesota Cuke and the Search for Noah’s Umbrella. Along with an exciting adventure and silly song kids will learn about confidence. Bob the Tomato, Larry the Cucumber and the rest of the gang tell an exciting story while teaching an important lesson.
Larry the Cucumber is Minnesota Cuke
Larry the Cucumber reprises his role as Minnesota Cuke in Minnesota Cuke and the Search for Noah’s Umbrella. Our favorite archeologist is back this time charged with finding the umbrella that was used by Noah. It is reportedly able to control the weather. The problem is that Professor Rattan’s twin brother, Wicker, is also after the umbrella and he’s not so nice.
The other problem, and maybe the biggest one of all, is that Minnesota Cuke doesn’t have enough confidence in himself. He is constantly worrying about what others think about him. This fear and lack of confidence stops him from doing what he has to do to find the elusive Noah’s Umbrella.
Minnesota Cuke Searches for Noah’s Umbrella
Mr. Muffet comes into Moose Lakes Children’s Museum asking Minnesota Cuke to find Noah’s Ark. He sent Minnesota Cuke’s friend, Professor Rattan, out to find it but Rattan is nowhere to be found. Armed with a copy of Rattan’s ancient instruction book, Minnesota Cuke heads to Mexico to find his old friend Julia.
While looking for a clue at a Mexican pyramid, Julia is captured. This leads Minnesota Cuke around the world in search for Noah’s Ark and Noah’s Umbrella. Will his lack of confidence get in the way of helping his friends and finding Noah’s Umbrella? Will Minnesota Cuke stop worrying about what others think and do what’s right?
Sippy Cup is the Silly Songs with Larry
A VeggieTales movie is not the same without Silly Songs with Larry and Minnesota Cuke Searches for Noah’s Umbrella has a particularly silly one. Written by Steve Taylor, “Sippy Cup” has Larry ordering water at a restaurant with one request – no Sippy cup.
Because of past messy transgressions the waiter insists Larry uses a Sippy cup. The waiter brings in the busboy and maitre de on the matter. Then they all bring him in front of a judge. Very over the top and very silly, as would be expected from a Silly Song.
Minnesota Cuke and the Search for Noah’s Umbrella Biblical Lesson
Another staple of VeggieTales is a trip to Qwerty, the computer, to see what biblical verse can be applied from the story. Minnesota Cuke and the Search for Noah’s Umbrella use Proverbs 29:25 as the scripture to learn from. It says, “Being afraid of people can get you into trouble, but if you trust in the lord, you will be safe.”
Minnesota Cuke and the Search for Noah’s Umbrella is a classically done VeggieTales video. There’s funny and witty dialog, a unique and endearing story, and of course the Silly songs with Larry. Big Idea has scored another winner, with many more to come.
